Art is an essential educative tool to explore the world.
Being an expressive subject, Art – does not deal with technical skills only but mainly with emotional expression of a personality. In its turn, this aspect entails two approaches in teaching Art.
The first approach is devoted to developing emotional self-reflection and self-expression alongside with creativity. Here, children create their own images, experiment with colours, techniques and tools (using hands, splashes, etc.), listen to music and “reflect” it on paper.
The second approach focuses on objects and phenomena, on painting techniques, on “reading” paintings and drawings, on developing aesthetic skills of children.
In our school we apply both approaches to appeal to the child’s emotional and creativity development, and arts technical skills at the same time.
